He's only 30, has a good few years left in him. You could largely put his stint in England falling apart down to his family situation, thankfully his kids seem to be doing well, so I'm absolutely delighted that he's back in an environment that he'll be well used to.
The only question remains is where do we play him? Back on the left wing or behind Pat as a number 10, where he's been playing in the UK?
31 in a few days but still a free years left. Done a lot more in the UK then Towell and 17 Ireland Caps.

Time will tell if this is a good investment or not. Who knows what Daryl Horgan we are getting back? The one that left us was unplayable against and would be brilliant. But is he the same player? In fairness Duff was 36 when he signed with Shamrock Rovers. Towell was a goal scoring midfielder in LOI. He scored just a handful of goals in 6 years in England. The hype about his return was Ott.

We certainly got the best out of Towell - Hoare, Finn and Gannon too.

Suppose that’s a program for Stevie and Cregg but as you say it’s a great problem to have. 11 games left in the league and hopefully a decent cup run and I think both will increase our chances of success on all fronts. Great signings well done to all involved in getting them done. Talk of outside investment or whatever but genuinely couldn’t care less

Maybe a left field choice but Frantz Pierrot looks like an absolute monster of a forward for Athlone. I've a feeling he'll have plenty of suitors in the PD but someone we should probably be looking at for next year.

I see Pierrot's brother scored tonight for Maccabi Haifa in CL qualifier against Slovan Bratislava.

I see Robbie Benson returning to training. Surely this will be his last few games as a Dundalk player? We simply cant afford to be paying injury prone players to sit out an entire season. Same for Mountney? Or will their friendship with the manager trump reason...great servants , great lads,but realism is needed here.

Is it not a case that most of the new lads are on 1 year deals with an option of another year sitting on the clubs side?
