Re: Flares and Fines
More flairs so more fines. So far this season:
V UCD: €0
V pats: €800
V shels: €0
V drogs away €800 ( at least )
V rovers €800
V Sligo €0
V Derry €800
V drogs in OP €800
Again, why should other fans spend money in the club when it goes to pay these fines ?
The club actively tried to stop unaccompanied kids going into the ground last night, I witnessed this at the Carrick rd entrance as I came in. So again why can’t the club put the same effort into stopping the flairs??

I found this tweet interesting. It mentions the ‘ middle of the shed’. The flairs I saw last night were in the middle of the shed. Is it Shedside Army who are lighting the flairs?

They stopped two girls in front of me who looked 16/17 and told them to go and get an adult if they wanted to go in🙄 we’ll done to whoever thought this was a good idea…that should stop the flairs, clownsMartin Lawlor80 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 04, 2023 3:42 pm More flairs so more fines. So far this season:

Lads they can hardly stop the flairs ... sure didnt two of the SSA go on a podcast saying it makes the atmosphere and the players love them. One of the two was elected to the supporters club at their AGM .... doubt the club want to open that can of worms. Easier to send kids home ... sure the SSA are not a baby sitter group as they stated in their press release.

Re: Flares and Fines
If true, it’s pretty unbelievable that an elected member of the supporters group is happy with costing the club huge amounts of money in fines every season. That just beggars belief.Pepsi wrote: ↑Sat Mar 04, 2023 6:24 pm Lads they can hardly stop the flairs ... sure didnt two of the SSA go on a podcast saying it makes the atmosphere and the players love them. Re: Flares and Fines
That’s not the point I was making. The club wasn't cracking down on unaccompanied minors to stop flairs. They were stopping them because of anti social behaviour at the UCD match. They had about 20 youngsters of about 12-14 yrs old at the Carrick rd and were asking them where the adults were. Right move in my opinion.Midfield11 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 04, 2023 5:54 pmThey stopped two girls in front of me who looked 16/17 and told them to go and get an adult if they wanted to go in🙄 we’ll done to whoever thought this was a good idea…that should stop the flairs, clownsMartin Lawlor80 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 04, 2023 3:42 pm More flairs so more fines. Was there an announcement from Mickey Duffy about flairs during the warm up? I wasn’t there.

Re: Flares and Fines
To be fair there is a serious scummy element supporting us these days. In dalymount last week singing about going "home to rape your mothers" is a new low especially when young girls are also singing said song . Sad reflection of the society we currently live in. There is banter and slagging but that is neither.
Dundalk Fc. First Irish club to win points in group stages of a major European Competition.

Re: Flares and Fines
That is a new low, but the club needs to make younger fans aware that if you purchase a juvenile ticket it must be accompanied by an adult, we have more good 16 year old fans than the little shits that think they are signed up members of an English firmniall_hearty2000 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 04, 2023 7:13 pm To be fair there is a serious scummy element supporting us these days. Re: Flares and Fines
So they cost the club the equivalent of 77 full price adult ground entry tickets, or 115 students/OAPS. FUCKING IDIOTS!

We'll going by your logic of believing everything you read on the internet, its €50 for the discharge of a flare.Martin Lawlor80 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 04, 2023 8:40 pmRead the first post in this threadShedSide03 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 04, 2023 8:38 pmWhat is your source for a €1150 fine?Martin Lawlor80 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 04, 2023 3:42 pm More flairs so more fines. Re: Flares and Fines
Don’t think that’s the figure I heard quoted by Mickey Duffy last year but can’t be sure so I’ll accept this €50 figure unless somebody comes on and contradicts.ShedSide03 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 04, 2023 8:43 pmWe'll going by your logic of believing everything you read on the internet, its €50 for the discharge of a flare.

I counted 4 flares last night. That’s €200. As I said I’ll tot up the cost to the club over the year.
You do agree that a club like ours can ill afford fines , even €50?

Re: Flares and Fines
Good man ... if you know what the fines are, be big enough to do a collection and donate the same amount yourself and your mates cost the club in fines every week. If you are all big enough to break the law and set off flairs in grounds surely you can all be big enough to at least cover the fines. If you have any balls like a good group of lads, you will publish the donation proof every week, we are not fussy, any local charity will do. If you want to start closer to home, I am sure there are a few Dundalk underage teams who could be doing with the €150 - 250 per month that Gobshites cost the club thinking they are man hard men.ShedSide03 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 04, 2023 8:43 pmWe'll going by your logic of believing everything you read on the internet, its €50 for the discharge of a flare.
