If that’s true, great stuff and well done to whoever in the club got it over the line. The more money we have , the better players we can attract.
Most clubs don't want to be associated with Betting companies , I doubt it was hard to get them on board.

We couldn't keep BetRegal.

Great news, the rumoured 250k is about 5 times more than fyffes would have been paying back in the day. I say milk these betting companies until it's banned.

It's a real head vs heart. We'd all love to have a wholseome family friendly sponsor on board but how can we turn our nose up at the biggest sponsorship deal the league has ever seen if we want to be competitive.

Right now there is a gap between Pats, Derry, Rovers and ourselves and this will help us shorten it.

Jaysus ye're mans head above in Bohs (The sustainable family club) will explode when he hears. Wasn't there a lot of chatter from the Drogs board about sponsership from betting companies also?

Although I love a wee bet myself, Im not a big fan of betting companies sponsoring us. However the figures mentioned far outweigh the negetivity.
I spoke to a season ticket holder who is totally against this sponsorship. When I asked him would he be prepared to pay an extra € 50 for his season ticket, he said no with a few choice words included. As was said earlier, this deal, no matter what the actual figure is, far exceeds monies from Fyffes and other sponsors throughout the years.

All positive so far from new owner. It will be very interesting what happens next with our all time leading marksman and captain. The ball is in his and the managers court now that BA has come out and said money is not a problem

The ex drogs chairman was already tweeting about it ..tbh if it annoys other clubs then that's a bonus. Love it when we boil other people's piss.

Wouldn't read too much into that. Around one time he was giving out about betting companies in sports, drogs players were all photographed with cans of Heineken after getting promoted for all the young supporters to see. I would suggest alcohol is a bigger killer than betting, if you're going to go down the holier than thou route.

For the record, I've no issue with either. If you are getting a decent wedge off the betting company, fair play to you

Shelbourne closing in on another signing, Liam Burt on loan https://t.co/iVK18htJYR

Burns would be a good addition for Rovers. Talk of Dawson Devoy returning to the League.

Tallaght away to open the season. Just looking at the fixtures the league looks really strong this year, we have a tough run of opening games.

Really tough away fixtures, first five away games are Rovers, Bohs,Pat's,Shels,Derry and home fixtures are against the so called weaker teams , so obviously the sooner you get a squad together and into pre season the better prepared we'll be , could be a good time to get rovers as they started really poorly last season but then again we drew with ucd to start last season.

I expect to see us challenging for the League & target the double . We have a great owner & a great manager . We will have a top squad , so really looking forward to the new season . The double will be doable . Cmon The Town .
