I thought it was accepted that we were able to go for him because we beat Bruno’s Magpies
I heard the rumour, but was told by two people who know what's going on in Oriel that it was true.
We got Durant on the basis of beating brunos magpies.

The lads will hardly protest against the man who lobbied the press and encouraged them to protest in the first place to get their club back.

This is as bad as, if not worse than Peak6. Here we are supposed to have local football people who wanted to be open and form a community club .... at least with Peak6, once MT walked you could say they had no one who had a clue about football in their ranks, however they did have money which they threw at it to try and get them through a pandemic. Interesting question just asked of me ... how many full time jobs have been lost in Oriel since Peak6 left?

New to this platform and isolate myself from things like this but suffering jaysus I needed to join after that tonight.Andy Connolly Alan clarke and Sean O’Connor took this club with empty promises.Connolly didn’t take it by himself because he had,and still has,no intention of putting a red cent into it.We will be left with nothing.I’ll stand with a bucket and collect for our future before I’d see them 3 muppets in power again for another season. We want our club back part 2 coming to a screen near you. This time we will see through the wheat from the chaff.Oíche mhaith

Still struggling to wrap my head around last night. Complete capitulation. If that doesn’t focus minds dunno what will. Budget for next year is gonna be tiny given losses last year and no European money comin down the line. Complete rethink needed

where are garts & co ?

loads of people inc ex players see themselves as responsible for the Kenny/immediate post kenny success ?

what about a bit of that spirit now

it's all a bit quiet on that front

Not sure what you mean about co/ex players? I was wondering about Garts, he essentially has the same role as JM had under peak6 and everyone can remember the uproar aimed at JM. No progress with contract extensions. Sheppard and Davies the main ones in demand you would imagine. How many players do we have beyond the next 2 months, 8 or so by my count ? Is there any future planning? The role is unclear to me from what we've seen so far.

Also if a decision is to be made about Stevie does Garts, his ex teammate, make it? Or does that decision bypass head of football operations?

A question that I was asking myself ... is Garts even full time with the club or is it a case of popping in as needed on a bit of a part time gig? Would certainly hope he is full time with the club and that he is already planning next season ..... however with our current owners, nothing would surprise me.

Garts another one who has got away with too much. He was solely responsible for letting young manny go to Drogheda. He is in charge of recruitment which has been shocking besides Davies. But the reality is people won’t question him due to his status with the club.

Did we expect anything else hiring a ‘ director of football ‘ with no experience. Typical Dundalk throughout the years looking after their mates

Garts was appointed after Manny signed for Drogheda. I’m not sure how he can be blamed for it. Surely the negotiations between Manny and Drogheda were going on for a little while too.

They weren’t. Apparently we were tryna low ball him and Drogheda swooped in last minute offering him a proper contract and a go at the first team

Fair play to the lad he made the right decision, he wouldn't have seen 5 minutes action for us.
Now if he had have came through a league two or conference academy in the UK he'd be a guaranteed starter, allowed to learn on the job and have a manger make excuses saying that this is his first professional season etc
