I thought he was quite good. But probably needs to lose a few pounds which is far enough for the first friendly of the season.

I seen Sam Caiger named as the trialist. It looks like him alright from a Google search.
He was with West Ham and released two years ago at 18. Playing non league since then with a team called Ware.

With respect
• we had 4 new players plus a trialist plus a rake of u19s
• Finn Harps had 10 players on trial in their squad of 21, 7 of them on the bench.
• with all the "no name" changes - Harps made 6 at one point with 15 minutes to go - it was impossible to keep track of who was who.
• To be fair I was more interested in seeing how young Kenny did (I see he scored the opening goal for Ireland Schools U18s yesterday)
• Who is Colm Bracken?

Resilient, passionate, determined performance from Derry against Dave Rogers Finn Harps.

I would expect Derry to run Rovers much closer this year, they might even win the league. What's certain IMO is whoever finishes 3rd this season will be a long way off the top 2.

I hope I am proven wrong, however at this moment in time, I do not see us anywhere near 3rd. If we are lucky we will get 5-6th. Numbers wise, increased number of games and players injuries last season all point to the squad being drastically below what it needs to be numbers wise.

A rabona effort by Eoin Kenny today for Ireland schoolboys against Australia.
Be interesting to see will he feature in the remaining pre season games.

Have to say I'd agree for now, plus Pats look a lot stronger, then again I thought same last season. I think we are looking at 4th spot, new player quality pending.
1-11 we are ok, just not a whole lot after that, need at least 3 more players, but injuries could indeed cripple us, pardon the pun and increased games as you say.

I would go as far as to say we need 5-6 players. 3-4 of those good enough to start weekly. Mountney looks to be out for a period, Benson will not play every game and we are still to see how the new recruits stand up to playing on the pitch. Add Europe to that and even 5-6 players could leave us thin on the ground, however there are people in Oriel who know better than me.
