Might get away with that bench this evening and for the first few games, however things will get very tight if we pick up an injury or two. Lets hope we get a few loan signings in before the window closes.

Who is Hough?

Also, A really worrying sign, only 4 senior outfield players on the bench at the first game of the year - with Martin, a player who should only be on the bench. Hard not to be pessimistic.

and that UCD team might be one of the worst ever to play LOI Premier.

Pathetic stuff. We couldn’t string more than 2 passes together before lumping it down the channels. Badly need a quality CB, Winger & cover for full backs .

Very poor. Control and passing was dire. Muller and Malley were particularly poor. O'Donnell should have livened up the team earlier in the second half. The only positives were John Martin and Ryan O'Kane looking lively.

John Mountney confirmed with an ACL injury again. Some blow for him. That's probaly him gone for the season.

I know it's it the first game but my god that was shocking. Couldn't pass, no gel in the team, some players bickering at each other over stupid things, another 5 mins and ucd would have scored again. Subs far too late by odonnell. Second half we didn't come out. Far too much lumping of the ball into nowhere and the worst thing is we do not look fit at all.

If thats whats to come, then we are goosed. Not only a serious lack of dept in the squad but it also very disjointed, some of those boys looked like they had never played together before. Makes you wonder what it will be live if we get a few injuries and are playing 2 games a week.

I know we all try to be positive when season starts, but that was really poor.
Didn't see one real moment of quality in any of the new players.
Not only did Hoban miss the penalty, but he also struck a free directly into the wall and then nearly cleared the ball stop nets with the rebound.
Hard to believe that we were no better than UCD.
Also must have been the first game in years when there was barely a chant from the shed

Team definitely needed a longer pre-season to gel as a side, but also feels like the squad is paper thin too. Unfortunately seems like it's too late to get any more new players in that could make any meaningful impact on the team, especially with the chemistry lacking enough as is.

poor , can't blame hoban we should have been two up.
really hoped there would have been decent squad investment
ground dead , well regarded ex players in the management team buys some nostalgia points for the owners , but we need to be spending better in the off season,
hopefully just a blip
