I don't know why they were against Fundraising , surely anything extra is a positive

A golf day could raise funds for a Temporary stand

Are they? Did it though?

Seems to be a real negativity building against the current owners which I think is a shame. Can't really see what they've done wrong here. If people want to invest they should be listening. I didn't want this deal to happen either and glad it isn't but I very much doubt it had anything to do with what a few people on Orielweb and a handful of pissed stoners at Dalymount thought.

Overall I think the owners impact has been positive, I hope they continue to talk to potential investors but that any potential deal includes a commitment on facilities. We can't do it ourselves and we won't be getting any help locally.
100% agree with this.
If we don’t get some sort of investment , OP won’t change for the foreseeable. The owners can’t put money in they don’t have.
Constructive criticism of the board is to be welcomed but some of the shit posted on here and on SM was way over the top . Bottom line is that if SS or AC decided to sell up tomorrow and walk out , we’d be fcuked.
Totally agree 👍

Club in serious, serious bother according to JR, debts of €750,000 according to this piece.
Though something tells me it will be fobbed off as 'just an opinion' if the club lawyer up here .....

A possible points deduction over the Zahibo saga? A right mess Brian Ainscough has taken on.

I wouldn't have thought there was precedent for a points deduction over an individual dispute like this. It is quite the shitshow though.

You need to read the breaking news before commenting lads. It looks like BA has secured investment from two US based Irish Business men who have done well for themselves. Two guys called Clinton and Keenan. Clinton once attended Dundalk Rtc in the 80’s and went to matches in Oriel and Keenan played with BA at Home Farm prior to finding their fortunes in pharmaceuticals and IT in the states. Happy days if true. Now to stop the King talking to Bobs!

I had read about the investment. That doesn't mean they could face a points deduction?

I think the level of debt has been known for months, but ye seems to be wherever new owner looks more debt is cropping up. From reading that it confirms suspisicions that Handy Stores had better governance and financial practices than the club have had for the last number of years. Makes for grim reading

There is also 550K due from UEFA this summer from last year, but you would think they have already borrowed into it, still that and the new investment will of course help.

What is not in doubt is how badly the club was run last 2 seasons, StatSports led were a disgrace, they did absolutely nothing.

They probably have but ye least that coupled with new investment might allow you to get closer to 0. I've no problem with the club harbouring debt once the loans and payments are sustainable. But i cant get over that article this morning. Its unbelievable Quay Celtic are better run

Grim Reading. Also not good when players are in dispute with the club over bonuses.

I know nothing about the 2 new investors, would these guys have made fortunes in the states or should i harbour my expectations a bit.

Seems statsports got off very lightly with fans given how they ran the club and the state they left it in. The yanks left a healthy bank balance. Our local heroes left it in the shitter.

P6 left feck all and are responsible for the whole Zahibo fiasco. Also heard we got next to zilch from their Betregal sponsorship because they are in financial meltdown
