Yep - happy to hear this, and hopefully all will have learnt a little from this, the club can always be open to investment but lets get it right who they are. This was just a sickner watching it play out and so soon after p6.

The state of the Hull Manager making those comments now.

Good news at last but again lets hope the next suitors looking to come in have a little more about them, and again the first Q to be asked 'Whats in this for us', but that said I still think we need investment, or a damn good run in europe !!!

Back to basics, lets get our first win and climb that damn table now.

Remember, if Gerry Malone says it's "imminent" then it's never going to happen.

Was it not that James Rogers fella spinning this yarn for the past couple of months or am I missing something here?

Hull City are closing in on a takeover of Dundalk Football Club, with talks between the two parties set to continue this week.
Despite reports of an agreement being reached between the Championship club and the current owners at Oriel Park, The Argus understands that no deal has yet been concluded but is close.

Both got it very wrong yes but it was JR who started all this crap about the club being pawned off to foreign investors.

It was Gerry's tweet at the start of last week that got the ball rolling on this story again, so much so that his tweet was being quoted in Turkish media outlets.

If it wasn't for local journalists, the fans would never have known any of this was going on. They may not have got all the details right, but I am grateful for their reporting.

I get that but JR decided to hop on the badwagon again after Malone's tweet, weeks after saying his previous articles were 'opinion'

Hardly. The Hull thing had been referenced on this very forum months before any journalists even reported it. It's a very small town.

How can anyone criticize the local journalists for reporting something that was true. The deal was close , the hull manager said as much.
The current owners were very much ready to sell us off to be a feeder club , until a groundswell of negative reaction from the fans pushed them in a different direction.

I'll be first to call out out journos for unnecessary shit stirring

but both proven spot on ( broadly )

doubt any fan reaction changed things either way

sad thing is , we now know we are for sale . there needs to be a statement clarifying the situation urgently

the ' always open for it investment ' corporate spin bullshit won't cut it

Are they? Did it though?

Seems to be a real negativity building against the current owners which I think is a shame. Can't really see what they've done wrong here. If people want to invest they should be listening. I didn't want this deal to happen either and glad it isn't but I very much doubt it had anything to do with what a few people on Orielweb and a handful of pissed stoners at Dalymount thought.

Overall I think the owners impact has been positive, I hope they continue to talk to potential investors but that any potential deal includes a commitment on facilities. We can't do it ourselves and we won't be getting any help locally.

100% agree with this.
If we don’t get some sort of investment , OP won’t change for the foreseeable. The owners can’t put money in they don’t have.
Constructive criticism of the board is to be welcomed but some of the shit posted on here and on SM was way over the top . Bottom line is that if SS or AC decided to sell up tomorrow and walk out , we’d be fcuked.

Ah go back to the rovers forum pal.
There was a lengthy statement last week and the chairman is after doing a 30 min interview with Gavin on YouTube.

I'd tend to agree with this. I haven't seen anything to suggest that the new owners don't have the interests of the club at heart. Yet.

It's very possible that Hull were pushing for us to be a feeder club, play in a certain style etc. and that's where the conversation ended.

Amazing what a little interview or piece of communication can do!
