They seem to be a lot stronger than last season, well organised and very hard to break down. Small compact pitch also which is always a leveler. We need to keep pressure on them from the start and hope they tire in the second half and leave a bit of room

Really difficult game tonight. Drogheda is no bad team. esp at home. They seem they won't be anywhere close to relegation. In saying that, its also a game we need to get something from if we want to be around Derry and Bohs.

Need to start well - don't fancy our chances if we go one behind.

They have had the best chances and really should have scored .. it was an horrendous miss. Hopefully rh fact we are playing second half into our fans might spur us on. We haven't turned up so far.

Tulloch is something else, isn't he? Drew four men onto him before supplying a great match winning pass.
And isn't it great to have a highly competent goalkeeper - and I'm not just referring to the penalty stop.

Andy Boyle and Greg Sloggett were outstanding tonight. Tulloch created that goal out of nothing but malley still had a lot to do to score it. Always a tough place to go. Sets up nicely for the visit of Rovers

How is Ryan O'Kane behind Cameron Elliott in the pecking order? One is completely out of his depth at loi level, the other was one of the league's brightest young talents in the second half of last season.
Great result but plenty of work to be done with that team. Terrible standard again, 50% pass completion or thereabouts...

Great win, awful performance. Could barely string two passes together and rode our luck. Need to improve before Rovers.

Malley goes under the radar a little, but he is a big improvement on last year's midfield. Shows a lot of moments of real quality that wins games. Him and Tulloch are two players that make us a lot better over the team that finished the season last year.

I think Skip is the best manager in the league - you can see it in how much the team plays together- but at the same time I feel he is not getting the best out of Hoban. He asking him to do too much (didnt even start leading the line yesterdat)- and I feel this is because we are mixing his great service with him being all-round great player. He certainly has a lot of qualities, but he is the best #9 in league. We need to find a way to allow him to concentrate on what he does best - leading the line and scoring, not have him dropping into midfield to be an extra body. It reminds of Rooney in his last year or two when he was being played as an attacking midfielder.

I would also disagree with the user above. That game was not for O'Kane. Pitch too muddy and narrow, game too physical. I would have chosen somebody with more legs and experience for the game. Saying that, we badly missed Dan Kelly, and overall need a bit more quality to match Tulloch.

Lastly, keeping clean sheets is huge too (if barely thanks the Sheps)- having played lots of different options at the back. Davis, Boyle and Leahy are all very strong players. Muller, Wasi and Annesley have all shown something too. Things certainly looking good at the moment. Hopefully we get a big crowd against Rovers and really put the pressure on them.
