Shelbourne v Dundalk 21 April

Post by seand »

I don't think splitting match threads onto sub forums really makes sense- when there is so little traffic here we might as well have everything in one location, but here we are.

Anyway, Shels away, tickets on general sale. Away end capacity must be 800+. Could do with digging out a result or two. The league is very weak, no reason we shouldn't challenge for Europe despite recent form. Pats sitting second after an atrocious start!

Interesting to see what happens now after capitulating with ten men in back to back games...
Our set pieces are just pathetic. Nobody can score a penalty and Wards corners have been embarrassing - kicking one straight out of play.
It comes across as a lack of professionalism in the squad that no one can practice set pieces to reach even a basic acceptable standard.

...and agree with the above point re sub forums.totally unnecessary

Cant see us getting anything with the team that was out first half. We certainly dont look like a side with an extra player in that half .... carrying too many and lacking quality, fitness etc.

Nobody tell me Keith ward is a good player. Good lad for a 5 a side maybe. But actual professional football,.no , absolutely not.

As for Archie Davies and tulloch, in the bin with them.

Terrible terrible recruitment

Lose this and O’Donnell should be watching his back for a tap on the shoulder.

27 minutes of the second half, no shots on target against ten men.

70 odd % possession and we have had the same amount of shots on target. Every set piece has been shocking (two were kicked out of play🙄). As for leahy we’d should have taken him off and played 10 v 10.

Ward’s set pieces were unusually shocking but he was all over the pitch, as for tulloch, he won the penalty and scored. Only for him we had nothing tonight. We were awful but for me tulloch done well.

nonsense , last thing we need is a managerial change ... too many people were so pro sod to admit they were wrong anyway .
his comments about the pitch , making it impossible to get talent were off the wall mistake but it's done now

new committed owners would be great

becoming a shambles

Not good enough. There is no excuses any more. Tactics are appalling and same issues week after week. Not creating any chances at all. It feels like a loss tonight and it's hard to see where we improve. Only positives is more game time in Hoban and Paul Doyle back.

Terrible display tonight from what has turned out to be a very average side put together for this season. 1 man advantage nowhere to be seem, not for the first time this season, surely it is time for SOD to feel the pressure. Apart from Davies, his signings this season have not been good enough.

He doesn’t appear to be up to the job and commenting about the pitch when the team is performing crap is shifting blame.

Were Davis and Tullach the only players taking shots? It's not rocket science that if you don't take shots you don't score.

Tulloch is to be commended for taking an actual shot at goal, unlike his teammates. But that is a pretty low bar.

Lots of problems with that team/squad. Club haven't backed the manager in the transfer market and it shows. A squad cobbled together without an obvious plan.

Hopefully Donnell doesn't come out and say it's not easy to play against ten men.. we showed recently that it actually is really easy

This should have been year two of of five year plan. We've actually gone backwards. I've been banging on about the lateness of our signings this season especially as all the excuses last year were the poor pre season.

I have the admit, this is the first time I'm questioning if O'Donnell is the right man for the job. An extra man for 80 minutes and I think their keeper had about two or three saves to make.
