Dundalk Fc . V Bohs .

Post by Johnnybegood33 »

Dundalk will head for Dalymount in buoyant mood after the demolition of Shamrock Rovers . Bohs lost 3-1 to Sligo Rovers , so it will be interesting to see the outcome of this match . Cmon The Town .

Confidence high with the club in good form but with the on loan players starting to return to their clubs, there's a real risk that the squad is going to get stretched thin without some new arrivals. Especially if the club hopes to have a decent European run.

For Bohs, it is probably their biggest game of the season in respect to where they are likely to finish up.

Last weeks results will only matter if we are able to drive it home this week. Massive game for us to qualify to Europe - a win will see a top 4 break away from the rest of the pack.

Win would be huge given they've a couple of games in hand. Hopefully last Friday is the result we needed to kick on and establish ourselves as top 4. Can't complain 13 points from a possible 15 in the last 5 and I'd probably take a draw now tbh but would be great to get all 3. No league game until friday the 4th of August after it

Big game tonight, a good chance to put daylight between ourselves and 5th. No need to rotate too much, you would think with 7 days from the last game and 6 days before Gibraltar.

Anyone that comes on here and says that Muller or Malley are good players should get a permanent ban.
Malley scores a goal and spends the rest of the game hiding. Cowardly player.
Muller just not up to it at all. Thankfully we have a new defender to replace him

Patches of good play/passing but no end product or shot, a lot of players playing long pointless balls or running into dead ends. Destroyed down our right all night which cost us, really need brownlie to come in and shake up the defence that are very poor at the minute.

Improved display despite the result ... however nowhere near consistent enough. I am very worried about Europe ... dont think we are going to have it as easy as many think against Magpies. I hope it isnt the case ... however these lads are just not up to the standard needed for Europe, sure they cant hold a lead in the LOI.

A lucky enough goal brought Dundalk back into the game and the went ahead. A good spell for a while thereafter. Bohs raised it again in the last 20 minutes. James
McManus is a great talent.

Sat back entire second half. Form is brutal this year and especially away form. Conceding far too many goals. Through that completely away and back again struggling to get a euro spot

Archie Davies was excellent all match. I actually thought malley had a decent game. Mf ran out of steam second half. Subs killed us. We were controlling it with kokko who I thought was playing really well and Sloggett and Doyle in mf. And malley. Yes the legs were going but once we subbed first three off and Kelly we lost our way. We sat far too deep second half and couldn't handle the strength of Afolabi up front for Bohs. And for me it was a stonewall pen at the end. Ref was terrible gave us nothing the entire match. But we keep on making the same mistakes every time we get a lead we seem to sit far too deep and let teams come at us. Having said that we deserved at least a point from the game.
Dundalk Fc. First Irish club to win points in group stages of a major European Competition.

Strange game, that weird back 5 that we started with were all over the shop and couldn't cope with Bohs awful long ball game. Then we looked good for a half hour before conceding all the momentum in th esecond half. The equaliser was coming, the third was a sickener though, Awful ball from Lewis to set up the 3rd, and Afolabi should have been taken out of it on the halfway line. Not my preferred tactic, but somethmes you take one for the team. And a clear pen at the end for 3-3. Such a disappointment to go from effectively 7 points clear of Bohs to 1 ahead of them.

Thought Malley was good again, also Davies, Sloggett and Kelly. Boyle is a big loss at the back when it comes to organising things.
