He was just Iver halfway, and offside. Very frustrating against a very average side

Literally spent the entire half hitting aimless crosses...have we no other attacking ideas? Absolutely brutal stuff

Think O'Donnell has to shoulder a fair bit of blame there. Personnel and tactics all wrong.

Sometimes you just have to pick your best 11 players Stevie.

Everything done at a walking pace, one of the worst performance I’ve seen from a Dundalk team. Any summer league team would have come away with something from that team.

Dont understand lads calling them an average side ... what are we then, they have just beaten us? We have a thread bare squad, very little sign of investment in it and have not been ripping teams apart ourselves.

The Irish Clubs have been way off it in Europe.

The luxembourg team Dudelange who beat Pats ,lost 2-0 in Malta tonight.

Typical over the top reaction on here. They were more clinical than us, end of. Team selection was wrong but hindsight is a great thing.

Uphill battle in Oriel next week.

He was onside. And we are still well in the tie. Early goal will put them under pressure esp as Oriel is a far more vocal support and it will be full of home fans.

Aye acknowledged that earlier when I seen the replay back.

Yeah hopefully the atmosphere can unsettle them as they're obviously not used to it. Magpies seemed to enjoy the hostile atmosphere.

Bottom line is the squad we have is very weak and Stevie is doing wonders with what he has. And the owners won't back him. Having said that Shep brutal for second and third and boyle slipped for first. I don't hink Hoban was fit and we took a gamble on his fitness he was heavily strapped. The early booking knocked sloggett's effectiveness and I actually think in hindsight tonight was a game for Alfie Lewis. Next week two up top Hoban and Martin and go at them.

Jesus Niall I have to disagree with you on shep, to call him brutal for two goals is madness. Our defence in the first half were asleep and there wasn’t a lot he could have done. I’ll agree with you on sloggett though, he disappeared after the booking that was very harsh.

He shouldn't have been beaten at his near post for the third . I think we are badly missing a Chris Shields presence in games like tonight.

Ah you're stretching it a tad to be fair saying we played very well. I felt we were average but the goals were terrible to concede and were basic errors. Defence was shockingly poor and we offered very little in the middle and Hoban was starved of service. They were an average team . Can we do them in Oriel. Absolutely. But we need three for that to happen. Big task but very doable with the right attitude from the get go. Two up top and just go at them.

My comment was tongue in cheek. Have you listened to the interview?
