Whilst I agree, and I am starting to believe that sod and the entire management team aren't up to it now, equally if the owners aren't investing then U end up putting square pegs in round holes. This squad isn't good enough to compete.dundalkfc1903 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 15, 2023 8:38 pm This is the managers fault. He doesn't pick his best 11 available. Ah Niall, they were running the club into the ground. We would be lucky to still have a club to support the way things were going.niall_hearty2000 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 15, 2023 9:08 pmWere peak 6 really actively looking to sell prior to the we want our club back protests? it was knee jerk nonsense that had everyone clamouring for a manager that only had two seasons under his belt because of his player profile, and knee jerk nonsense that caused the calls to get rid of the billionaire investors because they weren't local when all we needed was bill H to step back
caufield is a bit of a genius , and crucially highly experienced . credit where its due.
the last thing we need is knee jerk fan pressure on anyone. we're toxic now to any coach worth having unless there's a big cheque book and the owners seem more interested in an exit strategy than investing.
As frustrating as it is , backing the manager the only option . Then assess at the end of the season

And what are our current custodians doing? How many do you think will go through the turnstiles for the remaining matches?Louth4sam wrote: ↑Fri Sep 15, 2023 9:17 pmAh Niall, they were running the club into the ground. Don't agree that the squad isn't good enough, it's littered with really good players but unfortunately it falls on management to get a tune out of them.
Some lads certainly deserve the road. Leahy, despite showing promise early on and has good attributes hasn't been a good replacement for Dane Massey. McCourt easily as poor. Malley and Lewis I'd be letting go based on attitude alone.
I wanted Stevie to do well more than anything and at times it was looking good, but the wheels have fallen off the bus completely. It's just saddening.

Maybe private backing. But the owners can't spend money they don't have.niall_hearty2000 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 15, 2023 9:22 pmWho is paying his wages though. Enough in that Squad to do better. They likely won't have Europe next season so wouldn't be expecting big spending in the off season.

What do you want them to do differently? Their lack of interest in fundraising irks me however I'm glad they aren't throwing €500k at a lad because he won an MLS all star or signing players from collages smaller than DKIT or signing a crocked player because they read a news article about them or wanting our goalkeeper to take corners or want us to play games in Lansdowne road or sign a kids coach as managerniall_hearty2000 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 15, 2023 9:23 pmAnd what are our current custodians doing? The top 2/3 clubs at present have people of the highest caliber running their clubs,.what have we got. Just because a few out spoken fans build up our owners every one thinks we should be thank full of local owners - cop on. We have no one of any caliber leading our club. They have come and they will go and our club will last be it good or bad but the club will survive

I think the owners have given the management team a budget that’s enough to build a good team and not enough to bankrupt the club. On paper we have a deasent squad but week in week out they under preform due mainly to them being played out of position or dropped every second week regardless how well you played the week before. O’Donnell makes subs for no reason and doesn’t make them when needed. I’m sorry but for me the majority of this mess is down to the management decisions. The players don’t seem to have a clue what or where they need to do or be. Shockingniall_hearty2000 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 15, 2023 9:07 pmWhilst I agree, and I am starting to believe that sod and the entire management team aren't up to it now, equally if the owners aren't investing then U end up putting square pegs in round holes. Loss of Europe is massive. Obviously the loss of revenue, which will mean we will not be able to compete with RVs bohs Derry shels etc, which means we won't be able to sign better players, which means we will be mid table which means people will protest with their feet and in turn means an even bigger downturn in revenue.
