A lot of people on this forum trying to rewrite history lately for some reason.

And what are our current custodians doing? How many do you think will go through the turnstiles for the remaining matches?

What do you want them to do differently? Their lack of interest in fundraising irks me however I'm glad they aren't throwing €500k at a lad because he won an MLS all star or signing players from collages smaller than DKIT or signing a crocked player because they read a news article about them or wanting our goalkeeper to take corners or want us to play games in Lansdowne road or sign a kids coach as manager

Who actually knows this as a truth - very easy to put out rumours when you want to upset the apple cart. Our present owners really keep the Joe Soap supporter up.to.date. More like keep us in the dark and feed us rumours.- what are there plans? How do they see Dundalk DC future. Your in the big league board, let's us know your ambitions

I wish we had that kids coach as a manager back, because he got us to the group stages of the Europa league and won us the Fai cup in the same season. Probably our second most successful season ever.
But it feels like nobody is allowed to mention that.

Definitely not allow to mention it. Sure they were only American capitalists who wanted to make money form our club.

Just to put things straight on the Aviva rumours ..... Peak6 never wanted to move Dundalk FC to Dublin. They offered to put the FAI in contact with an American group who would pay the amount X (nearly clear their debts) to manage their share of the Aviva. This tactic was used to expose the fact that the FAI/John Delaney did not have the deal in place with the RFU they claimed to have. They were also trying to force JD and his merry men to pay a percentage of earnings from Aviva income into the LOI. How do I know ... because a relative sat at the table as a lawyer on the day. The same lawyer was at the table when Peak6 ripped JD and RTE apart with the story that RTE didnt pay for LOI games, when it was clearly there for everyone to read that the money way being paid as part of the international teams deal. All these deals done whilst a DFC rep was sitting at LOI top table.

Likewise, Bill never asked for a direct line from the US to the dugout. He asked if it would help the management team if their was a communications network between a person in the stand, a TV review group and the trainer team as would be standard in American football and Rugby. He very often put off the ball ideas into the round to see if soccer as he called it could benefit. (that info came from someone Bill hired to work in Oriel on behalf of Peak6)

And finally, there as no player paid anywhere near 500k to sign for Dundalk. Ravis was the top signing of their time and one of their top earners (came from a local who was very close to Bill).
The kids coming from the US were being sent over to gain experience (all paid for by Peak6 in the States on a scholorship, as most were not allowed to play professionally nor sign contracts), deep down they hoped to find a gem who they could sell on. It was about exposure in a hope that they could slowly convince higher class players to make the move. Truth be known .... our pay levels are lower than most colleges in the US.

At last someone speaking some real truths. What I would give now for some honesty from our present owners - NO CHANCE. You need class to be honest. I would also ask about ex supporter groups etc now backing these people - the group to represent supporters - that's right The Trust - they sold the supporters a pup. One or 2 got in bed.

Serious investment is needed to replace Oriel & buy a new team . Is there anybody out there that are prepared to invest 10 mill. ? We are at a crossroads as regards the future of this great club . Bate Borisov was the time & it all slipped away . Bring back Peak 6 & Bill & apologise profusely .

We will never get the investment to improve or rebuild Oriel. To be competitive in the loi and be challenging for league titles and Europe probably and realistically costs upwards of €2m per season. That's just short of 40k per week. So it's not chump change. Equally gofund me or supporter investment will ultimately be of a first division standard. That's it. And even at that we won't raise the same amount as Sligo fans just donated to their club just over €100k.

Sligo while not great at present, have good plans for the future with redevelopment of the Showgrounds while will give them more income to be competitive with increased capacity.
It's better to aim to be like them, then a quick fix ownership trying to aim for a league and left in a financial hole .

Arsenal were very competitive under Wenger and left Highbury for the Emirates. It took them a long time to pay off the costs but they are beginning to be a force again

Surprised at the focus on the ownership after a 4-0 loss to Galway.
Whatever about the general investment in the squad, there is more than enough quality in there to beat a first division team.
This is on the management and players. Stephen has failed to address the pivotal number 6 position, guess who will be first name on the teamsheet next week ..Malley , supposedly protecting the defence.

It's taken me 3 days to recover enough to be able to think about posting. Absolutely shocking. The squad is limited but probably good enough for upper midtable, but the management was appalling again. The 12 year old expressed concern before kickoff that there was no CDM. So there was no cover in front of a weak defence, with a LB in CD and a CD in LB who's supposed to play the John Stomes/Trent Alexander Arnold role. Muller has done well in recent weeks, but he's no international class Beckenbauer type. An absolutely sh1tshow. A triple sub after 30 might look like a decisive, brave maangement tactic- if we didn't remove our best attacking performer (Yli-Kokko). Then later taking of Brownlie only to put Sloggett in to CD to further weaken the midfield and attack. Jeezus wept. The first half performance was truly shocking. I thought the players and management were treated remarkably well at full time. A minority shouting and screaming, understandably, significantly more applauding sadly. I just walked out, I couldn't look at them.

In fairness to SOD he earned a lot of goodwill by over-performing in 2022. Making Europe in his first season on a modest budget was an achievement. 2023 though! Poor recruitment, and general mediocrity through the season, it's hard to see him starting 2024 in the dugout.

Poor recruitment caused by what though? Is it his fault we are resigned to loan signings or players from the Highland league. Rumours that we are in serious financial problems and that there isn't the proverbial pot to piss in above in Oriel. Yes sod has made some very strange tactical decisions , but for me he was sold a pup and this mess is clearly at board level. Maybe not all of the board but certainly as a collective this mess is at their door.
