I am more than happy to work with them on where the money goes though.
I'd get in contact with Orla Crilly of the 1903 Gearóid, I've found her to be very approachable and she's doing good work in the background.

Also seen Sligo raised 100k+ in their annual draw, so something like this is definitely worth exploring.

Personally think that the go fund me is a ridiculous idea. Why should we? We spend enough money as it is and see absolutely no benefit of it. The current owners are getting away with murder, they are worse than the yanks. We should be going after them, demanding answers, not giving them more money. False promise after false promise and complete silence no communication with the supporters.

However I will repeat what I wrote before. The same fans who are now on FB , X and OrielWeb calling for SODs head and the owners to sell the club, are the same supporters who were up in arms when Hull were about to invest in the club. When we had a chance of investment which might bring some stability for the future of the club the most vocal of fans and podcasts said what amounts to “NO, I’d rather end up in the 1st Division and have a community club”.
Well guys, you got what you asked for…

Do you really think a few fans tweeting negatively about the Hull rumours was the reason that they didn’t take us over? And plus, while it might work short term for shelbourne, a fair few of their fans have voiced concerns.

Just because our club is being run poorly should we accept the first group that tries to invest? I don’t think so. The right fit will come eventually

There won't be many lining up unless it's something similar to what Shelbourne have with Hull. Drogheda on the verge of American investment who also own Walsall.
Even Athlone in the first Division have an American link up. They got a few players that way, like the striker Pierott.

Dermot Usher with Cork City is one of the Irish investors, along with Desmond who has 25 % in Rovers. Philip Doherty and Gareth Kelleher are both local men and supporters of Derry and Pat's.

Who would touch DFC at this moment in time .... fans should not forget the following ....
1. What happened to the last investors with a shit load of cash ... they were run out of town and it were criticised for not building a ground as they were billionaires.
2. We have a small fan base with little chance of increasing it nor with increasing prices to increase match night revenue. As a result it will have to be someone with deep pockets and a few loose screws.
3. We have owners who want investment but also want to remain involved. Without knowing details, it sounds like someone should pay and everyone should enjoy!

Would you put money on the table as an investment if you had it?

It was far more than “ a few fans tweeting negatively”. It was the talk of the town, Dan McDonnell was all over it and the podcasts were making a big deal about. One of the owners had to give a 30 min club website interview because the fan base had a collective nervous breakdown.

Maybe Hull weren’t the right fit and I hope you’re right that the correct investment will eventually come but will it be accepted the by the ‘we want our club back brigade’???

Dermot Usher had the chance to takeover Dundalk after P6,but didn't like the vibe and the way it had ended. He also felt there would be more potential in Cork City. A city club with a big fan base and a decent ground by LOI standards.

Well to be honest at the current rate we will be relagated before winning another piece of silverware. There will be no more than 1500 in the gate next Monday and it will continue to drop. We as fans need to act and make a statement. The current regime have got away with far too much. I’m not sure how we do it but I think it needs to be more than just a banner by the SSA.

Honestly Pepsi, everyone dreams of winning it big in the euro millions. But ultimately even a record Euromillions success wouldn't cover us .

Bohs redevelopment of dalymount is costing €28m for an 8k stadium, which is 4k seats and 4k terrace or along those lines. So effectively €28m for a stadium not fit for the group stages of Europe. So realistically what's the point to that? You aren't reaping the rewards of your success. So for us to build a stadium fit for group stages is close to €40m.
Then what do we need to build a squad capable of winning the league title year on year. Something in the €50k a week ballpark which is €2.6m . That's only on the playing staff. That figure is based on the likes of RVs who were spending €3.5k a week on the likes of Towell, Byrne etc. So to be successful we would need close to a full starting 11 at thos figures, 5 at about €1500 per week and 5 younger players at circa €400-500 per week. That's just to be competitive in the league. Would that be competitive enough and quality enough to qualify for the group stages? Who knows. But you would need that for circa 5-10 yrs to build a dynasty. So for 10 yrs of a squad and a new stadium you're looking at no change from €65 MILLION. You would then expect your domestic prize money and gate receipts to cover the management expenses, travel expenses, food and normal daily running costs of the club and match day expenses.
So in a word No, you would be mad to invest your own money in Dundalk FC

Dalymount went to 40 million with cost of inflation. 5,800 of the 8k is seated.
The original plan was a 6 k all seated stadium.

Ok 40m for a stadium that won't be fit for group stage matches. Realistically what's the point. They aren't getting many more seats in total. So you could imagine how much Oriel fit for group stage matches would cost to build.

They probably can expand in future. Ueffa are looking at bringing back safe standing terracing in grounds. It might not be a problem if Bohs get to the group stages in the next few years. 2026 is when it's expected to be complete.

Lots of German clubs have terracing.

Only for Bundesliga / domestic games. BVB in the Bundesliga have a capacity of just over 83k, in Europe or internationals its just north of 60k. That is due to UEFAs restrictions and they will remain in place until well after the Euros next year.

They are safe standing which are totally different to your bog standard loi terraces.
