But the general concensus would be that he was absolutely muck and most would be happy he's gone - and even happier if he's playing in your first team

We were counting down the days until his loan period was up. Was woeful
We should be signing YOU up as a centre-half. You know how to defend an indefensible position!

Yea played at a decent level in Scotland. He has been a free agent since January so could take a while to be match fit

5 players signed and not 1 of them a striker really concerns me tbh. Any word on that Cliftonville lad we were supposedly signing a few weeks back? All seems to have gone quiet on that front. Hope I'm wrong but not inspired by any of the signings made so far

I think he signed for someone in Scotland.

Without doubt our shopping so far has been in the bargain basement. Seems to me to be a massive risk to turnover 8-10 players in a relegation battle with a dozen games to go.

Our recruitment strategy has been so poor for years, we really need someone at the club specialising in it.

Ye I think this is years of poors decisions all coming to a head. We're skint too and signings are reflective of that fact. I know some are always accusing of negativity on here but we're runnin outta games and I'm beginning to fear the worst again

Relegation may be a blessing in disguise, might actually focus minds enough to get the house in order. Obviously don't want that, but feel staying up this year delays the inevitable and at some stage we're gonna have to face reality. Sprinting to stand still

I think we should reserve judgement until we actually see the calibre of player we have.

Granted a good lot of past signings haven't gone too well but they werent Daly signings. Lets give them a chance and get behind the team.

Agreed, never give up, even if we lose tonight, and Drogs do same, there is a chance to go 6 clear of them next Fri, or of course it could do the other way and we could fall to bottom.

We just have to keep looking to get as far away as possible from Drogs as we can, and 3 points gives absolutely no margin for error.

I'd bite your hand off now for the play off spot, if we can finish in 8th that will be a miracle but a lovely gift all the same. I have faith in JD to turn things around. I will say it again though, SOD and his staff left us in a terrible position, 3 points from a possible 24 was just a terrible return and left us with so much to do. The players were clearly not playing for him either in the last 2 or 3 games.

If we loose Archie this transfer window it will be a huge blow, he's developed into one of the best defenders in the league, he also contributes at the other end of the pitch in creating chances and space for others with his ball carrying ability, probably the one player we need to keep until end of season.

For me it's a no brainer. Keeping Archie and letting him go for free at end of season if it helps us stay up, is worth more than the rumoured €75k tf fee. Yes it is poor considering we paid a tf fee for him, but it's imperative we stay up. Attendances and interest levels have been poor this season so you can only imagine how much further they would dip if we get relegated.

Ainscough may well be steadying the ship and clearing up umpteen messes from the previous regime. However the signings have been exceedingly underwhelming, which tends to mean we don't really have a pot to piss in, and are shopping in the bargain basement.

If we accepted a few peanuts for our under-contract all time leading goalscorer, then we will be biting the hand off any club for 75k for any player.

If the offer is true, he's off.

Id hazard a guess that the following will be going: Davies, Muller, Durrant, Walker.

The Drogheda owners seem to be putting the pressure on Kevin Doherty with their statement. https://t.co/ZhtZNKKivw

Looking at it from a fans perspective you are 100% right, however from a business perspective ... €75K+ is not to be sniffed at if you look at what the LOI champions earn for winning it. We will not have Europe next season, meaning it will be a further hole to fill and that is not including potential pitch improvements or flood lights etc. Worrying is that we had news being reported a few weeks back of big investment, then just investment and all of a sudden all this has gone cold.

Has anybody thought about the third option trying to keep Davies and giving him a long contract
