2024 | Rumours | Transfers | Contract Renewals
This is the current scope of players who are in contractual limbo with the ongoing takeover. Not sure about Brownlie and Durrant's situation but I feel like their deals can be extended for next season as well.
Out of Contract:
Shepperd
McCourt
Mountney
Sloggett (linked with Shels)
Lewis
Benson
Ward
Kelly (linked with Derry)
Martin
Players with 1 year extension clause:
Davies
Muller
Malley
Annesley
Elliott
Brownlie?
Durrant?
Under contract but expected to leave:
Hoban
Leahy

Hibernian are suppose to be after Archie Davies. Brian McDermott the ex Reading manager is DOF at Hibs now ,and was at a recent Dundalk game.

Expect Annesley to get another year to see if he can go a season without major injuries or illness. He had a great start but never reached that level again after his bout with sepsis, deserves another chance.

He may well see his future lies back over in England. Current international doesn't fit into a part-time structure.

Does for Gibraltar. We'll see if there's any interest in him I guess.niall_hearty2000 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 04, 2023 2:43 pmHe may well see his future lies back over in England. Current international doesn't fit into a part-time structure.

Thats is Niall, big questions here are:niall_hearty2000 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 04, 2023 2:43 pmHe may well see his future lies back over in England. Current international doesn't fit into a part-time structure.
1. Do the players want to remain at Dundalk?
2. Does the club have the budget to afford the players?
Only people who can answer the above questions are the club owners.

Just a quick look at our santy list for next season:
A goalkeeper, a left back, a centre half, a number 6, a number 9, a main sponsor, a goalkeeping coach(arise Peter Cherrie)
No pressure at all.

I’ll have a stab and say quite a few will probably leave and no club hasn’t the budget for current squad.Pepsi wrote: ↑Sat Nov 04, 2023 3:24 pmThats is Niall, big questions here are:niall_hearty2000 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 04, 2023 2:43 pmHe may well see his future lies back over in England. The club have plugged up the leaks anyway, it's been crickets since the statement came out. Has to be done soon, should've been sorted before the UCD game.

If mountney ,benson are kept on questions need too be asked .
Sheps and Sloggert are the only ones I’d like to keep from the out of contract .

Re: 2024 | Rumours | Transfers | Contract Renewals
I genuinely wonder what is going on in the footballing side of the club.
We are letting 22 goals in Hoban and Daniel Kelly walk out the front door, thats nearly 40% of goals scored this season. Special type of madness when we have Hoban, 14 goals 6 assists, under contract.
I can't see why or how our owners would make such a decision if a takeover is on the cards, so do the answers lie with Stevie or Gartland? Why did we sign Horgan, if this was on the horizon with Hoban? Is a revised budget forcing their hands based of the premise of no takeover or is their preference?
Zero clarity for fans and a lot to make sense of.

I think it’s fairly obvious we’re in big debt and current owners or whoever comes in needs to reduce outgoings. Pat pointed to it in one of his interviews. We’d be debt at the end of last year and not obvious influx of cash this year so I’d say it’s worse than where we were and close to the million mark
