That's true. Rovers with a sell on clause too.

More the exception than the rule but i take your point. Only sustainable money in the league is proper investment in academy and producing young lads to sell on. That's where new owners focus should be imo even if it impacts the on-field performance in the medium term

We produce very few, but the ones that have potential we dont seem to be able to even identify and get signed up.

Emmanuel Adegboyega went to Drogheda, and 6 months later sold to Norwich for 90k. Norwich had been showing interest while he was at Dundalk ,so it was a mistake not to tie him down.

Ryan O Kane was one of the few who was tied down when he broke into the team with a 3 year deal.

Wasn't expecting another striker , good news. Seems to have decent potential.

Wonder is Stevie looking at playing 2 strikers strange to have 4 on the books if you’re on a budget

Dont forget, Ryan had to leave the club only to be re-signed by people who are no longer at the club. No secret made of that at the time by people close to him. If I owned the club and was facing a loss every season or the bill for a new pitch or floodlights, I know I would want to know how lads like Emmanuel and Seanan could walk away. Someone is not on the ball when it comes to youths .... lets hope BA can solve that problem as he is coming from a youth academy type of setup.

And how do you force Mullen into a long term contract?

Brownlee is gone. I didn’t realise he had so few appearances. He started off good.

How do you convince any young player to sign a contract, how do Rovers, Pats or any other club do it? You get them young, convince them and those around them that they are in a good place by offering first class coaching, medical care etc. and finally you give them a sniff of first team training / playing time.

Not a bad move. They are in a relegation battle, but lower half League 1 or a league 2 team would have been realistic moves.

And money.
And education. Reconnect with DKIT. Look to see if we can get a partnership with someone like the Grammar where we can offer accommodation and education and sweep up the best talent we can nationwide and even further afield.
