You get them young, convince them and those around them that they are in a good place by offering first class coaching, medical care etc. and finally you give them a sniff of first team training / playing time.
And money.
These two posts sum it up. Two massive F*k ups from football side of club with Emmanuel Adegboyega firstly and now mullen. But maybe cash wasn't there to sign them from previous ownership. Hopefully Mulligan (Pro Contract) is the end of the shortsightedness.

Or and maybe this is actually a risk but how about employing able people at all levels in all departments of the club instead of it being a mates fraternity like it has been for years? Just an idea...

But why is it a massive pillowcase up from the club with Mullen? You can't force a young player with good potential to sign a contract no matter what you offer them. If they have interest from abroad why would they tie themselves down to a contract?

Well said ... but can BA risk press leaks or protests? Look what happened last time when owners tried to change something.

Well he has already tried to change by ruffling a few feathers bringing in Halpin Sports. There needs to be a clear of the decks but surprised that u Pepsi have been praising one of the biggest problums on the Carrick Road in a different thread. If u look at the Q&A which I attended 10 days ago BAs comments were interesting to me speaking specifically about two issues that cropped up so it says to me he would look to make changes in the future

It has never been a professionally run club and has always been jobs for the lads club. Yes we need volunteers but paid positions need to be advertised and the position filled with the most qualified person be it part time or full time.

Center Midfielder Scott High signed on loan from Huddersfield. 44 games in the Championship.

Add a left back and a center back, I would be confident going into the season (a lot more than a month ago for sure).

I agree. I'd be more confident if we got another couple of defenders in. I think we have enough midfielders already.

The only issue is he's only here til the summer.

Any information on new loan signing Scott High. Must be half decent if he played in the championship. Is he a a 6, 8 or 10? What type of injury did he have when he was on loan at Ross County

He must be good when he played that amount of games at that level.

Big drop to League of Ireland so you'd expect him to be Quality here..

Shame it's just til the summer but better than nothing & may be extended who knows!

A hamstring injury. He only appeared twice after joining Ross County on loan last summer .

And yet another new face in, a centre half on loan until summer, this guys looks decent as he only signed a 2.5 year deal from Ipswich to Lincoln City.

One more to get (GK) then you would think that's us full.

Don't forget a left-back... I think we badly need one after seeing Walker.
