With respect, not much point in putting up a link when anyone who ever dared to question His Divine Imperiosness has been blocked.

Derry City supposedly after both Hoban and Gaffney. Hardly a need for both unless McGonigle is moving on. McGonigle to Dundalk wouldn't be bad business

My "cancellation" was one of the early ones, at a time when his tweets were highly contentious and raised questions about how he had managed to get a journalist's card. The credibility this gave him was causing concern with some people taking his ramblings as actually true. He started blocking anyone who disagreed with him, irrespective of how polite you were. It became a badge of honour. I do recall someone opening a vanilla account, then posting a screenshot of Gerry's tweets for all to see. Happier days.

Yea possibly. Though Dundalk would need to get the takeover deal sorted soon.

Sean Gannon is out of contract. Would Dundalk take him back if Davies goes

I just can't believe this could or will actually happen. Unless someone's coming in with a six figure transfer fee it doesn't make any sense whatsoever. If you're trying to sell up or bring in investment why would you get rid of your prize asset first? It makes no sense on any level. I mean we weren't even out of European contention until 10pm last night so why would this be coming up?

Daryl Horgan is contracted until the end of the 25 season, meant to have been private backing to get Horgan to return to Dundalk. But what was the point of that when cutting other players contracts.

Good points raised. Something we're not being told here without a doubt..

Especially considering that his new coach will likely be one of the two "special guests" on the night.

I’m not one for thinking that fans have a right to know everything that goes on in the club but for this one I hope we are going to find out who made this decision and why this week. Do we get any money for him even??
The man is under contract and wanted to stay ffs. This is so wrong that someone needs to explain it to the fans

Spot on but think fans are entitled to be anxious and seek clarity Kevin Mulligan has a good piece in this weeks Argus about just that.

I don’t think there’s any mad secret agenda to the whole Hoban ordeal. He’s right to feel mistreated imo but it’s quite obvious that we’re in debt and they want to get his wages off the books. Unless a new owner comes in with a bottomless pit UCD was his last game. The likelihood of owners coming in and splashing mad cash is slim to none too I think. Whoever comes in is gonna have a budget of a couple of million and a good chunk of that will be eaten up by debt. Playing budget is gonna be gutted either way. Club has to cut its cloth to measure rather than send good money after bad
