I think this is the first LOI or actual game that SDCC will have the new 4th stand open for, and almost sure this is for away fans.

Makes great sense too as busses will be parked behind in dual carriageway, we should take a huge following to it, I`m looking forward to it.

Pretty sure I read that away fans will stay where they are and new stand will house home fans.

Yes, I read the same. They're using the north stand as a family section.

This could be a really long night folks, I have a feeling we are just not ready to perform in a match like this so early in the season. They will prob have 6k + in too.

A defeat away to Rovers won't define our season, that said you don't want to be shipping goals and a heavy defeat on day 1.

I'd be tempted to go with 3 central defenders, 2 full backs, lose a MF, but whatever formation he plays I can't see past Rovers not winning by 2 goals unfortunately, but I hope I am wrong, a draw would be am an amazing result, however I just can't see it.

We need to absolutely beat Galway at home Fri week, those are the games that will define our year.

Must win games in week 2 of the season 😂

We must have one of the most ridiculous fan bases in the country.

Anyone finishing below Galway will either be relegated or in thd playoffs. You don't finish above teams by losing at home to them.

Like last season when we lost at home to Sligo in April?

Sorry I didn't realise we would finish below Galway if we lose to them Friday week. I was under the impression there would be 34 games left after that, must have missed the rule change.

They are expecting it to be sold out. The new stand brings the Capacity to 10,500.
A restriction for the Presidents Cup final, but still a good crowd at 8k.

A reminder that it's a 745 kickoff for TV rather than the usual 8pm in Tallaght

I don't have a lot of confidence here, but in fairness to SOD he got decent enough results out of two chaotic preseasons already.
I can't see Rovers being as mediocre as last year and even if they are they'll be well clear of Pars and Dery, never mind Dundalk

I hope I'm completely wrong but I'd be a bit concerned at how low our travelling support could be for this, especially with it being live on TV.

Pohls has big boots to fill in nets. Mannus was fairly reliable over the last number of years. Pohls looked a bit of a liability in the past, but faired ok in a few games at the end of last season. Dundalk need to get a few early crosses and shots and don't let him be comfortable.

My pick

--------Shelvey--------
Davies Boyle Muller Benson
----Oostenbrink Doyle----
Mahon Horgan Durrant
--------Gullan--------

Doyle and O'Kane could easily slot into the starting XI.
Hearing good things about Zak Johnson and Scott High but dont think they would start just yet.

Dont think anyone will be able to predict the team tho but I feel LB is our weak spot and dont think Walker will be up to it certainly against Rovers.
