Cheers, I didn't realise that! It would be fair to say he left both Derry and Dundalk under a cloud.

Lads Magilton was never given a real chance, partly because of Covid situation .... however more importantly in the background certain powers within the club and FAI were working against him from day one. P6 underestimated the power of auld mates in Ireland.

The club has been a basket case since Kenny left.. ok to be fair we won the league the following season but it was for the most part Kenny's team. We won the cup and qualified for conference group stages under FIllipo so that is effectively a basket case for 5 years now. But hey we got our club back under local owners afterwards!!
The thing is, people are saying Sod's time is up. And it probably is. But who do we get? Who can we afford? Can we even afford to sack sod? If he does go then the entire backroom team needs to go, coaches, assistant manager, dof or recruitment whatever the title is. All are as accountable for this mess as sod is.so we have taken punt after punt from owners to managers over the course of 5 years. So this next appointment has to be spot on and not a jobs for the boys usual loi merry-go-round of managers or players jumping from one club to the next, season after season.

Niall that is why deep in my heart that I hope PH and BA have someone in mind .... maybe someone from outside the LOI. I am sure PH has plenty of contacts to UK and European clubs, whereas BA has links to the US and European clubs via one of his business interests. Important this time round is that fans are not influenced by club external forces, journalists ignore their feed and that the owner is given time to implement the new structures and plans. Will also mean decisions being made that wont be popular, however without professional structures and a major restructuring the club will never return to where it was. I have asked friends recently if the owners ambition would stretch to offering SK a position as DOF or higher, allowing him to pick the trainer and decide on the whole strategy of the club from youths to first team. The question is ... if SK is not interested ... who could do that job. We need a solid football brain beside PH to make this work.

It's a pipe dream for fans to think that SK would come back to Dundalk. The club is in the gutter off the field and on the field is a mess. Reports had it that he was talking with Bohs but maybe going abroad. Bohs are maybe 5 years ahead of Dundalk in terms of their off the field. Maybe more. Rovers and their infrastructure is 10/15 years ahead of Dundalk.

On the current gaffer, Stevie will always be a legend but he has lost his way and we haven't had a style really since he has been here. Big decisions to be made in the coming weeks but I feel we are in for some tough years as a club. I think the off the field matters haven't even come to a head yet. The clubs needs less politics, less "jobs for the boys", less sense of entitlement and more professionalism, more structure and people in positions where they know what they are doing. For example, Garts, how on earth is he in the position he is in? A legend like Stevie but got the job because he was friends at the time with our recently disposed of COO.

The club I think has the only full time content media officer. Bottom of the table - why? Thats a luxury and a part time role at most.

I have been a season ticket holder for almost 30 years, and my feeling is that the club is in the worse place it's been in a very long time. Players have seemingly given up on the coach, crowds are poor but maybe they are just accurate now and the recruitment over the last 2 seasons has been very poor. Who is responsible for recruitment? Is it Garts who dropped the ball apparently several times, is is Stevie/Padge with their connections to Scotland or is a team effort? If the latter, then when Stevie is let go, or walks, then Garts needs to follow him out the door. They will always be heroes from the Kenny era, but they are not fit for purpose.

Could write, and write and write and write.

ALAN REYNOLDS IS set to be confirmed as the new Bohemians manager once his involvement with the Republic of Ireland U21s concludes after tomorrow’s European Championships qualifier with San Marino.

As reported by the Irish Sun earlier today, an agreement is in place for Jim Crawford’s assistant to take charge at Dalymount Park following the departure of Declan Devine just four games into their Premier Division campaign.

The 42 understands that Reynolds, who is also former Bohs boss Keith Long’ current No.2 at rivals Waterford, will not continue with his FAI role on Crawford’s U21 staff.https://t.co/9bfmVLw5ii

Feels strange not having a game to go to tonight. Apparently we're playing a behind closed doors friendly today, anyone hear anything on who it is against or when it's on?

These international breaks feel worse when you're in poor form. Another week to dread over the visit to Tolka Park.

Met a high ranking, local living club official this morning on the town who told me it was against Larne.

Good news is Annesley played well for Gibraltar. Was again used as a holding mid but protected the back line well. 6.8 on sofascore.
