Daly has been in the league now since 2021 so he will know the opposition and our own players .
Good appointment for what we need right now, its not the fancy SK appointment we all longed for but it seems a good solid appointment so hopefully all the off field stuff of the last 4 weeks can now start to be put to bed.
Zero leaks must be the first time in years a big appointment came under the radar and wasn't broke by Dan McD or JR I wonder why

Their mate is no longer in Oriel to feed them and as I have been told BA and PH were the only ones involved. Both want the leaks to stop as they see how they can effect the club.

Big week now for Daly, start fresh on Monday, full week to work and get to know the players, prepare for Derry.

No reason our home form and the talent we have shouldn't be enough to get us out of trouble, but the away form / results are just brutal.

Lets all get behind Daly.

That talent you speak of Mike should be able to put up a performance away from home. No excuses.

Noel King literally a month ago was also under the radar surely? The second journo you mentioned there reported SOD wasn't coming at the time as well and that he was staying with Pat's
Slowly but surely the club has been weeding out these harmful leaks over the past number of years. I think JD will do a very good job and won't feed into constant media/podcast negativity, strikes me as a man who'll just get on with the job. His first real game comes next week v Derry at Oriel, a bumper crowd there to get behind would be great.

That's a very fair point Niall.

No leaks but someone in the club is telling you who's involved in hiring the manager and why no one else was involved....

The reason there has been no leaks on this one is because the main leak in the club since he arrived in the summer of 2013 has finally been removed, some1 who shud never have got the job he was in he was underqualified for it and has an overinflated ego its clear as day that he was damaging everything and like so many decisions and hirings by the previous ownership and ones linked it was a jobs for the boys exercise but finally BA saw this. Not sure if Daly will be the great answer every1 believes he will be but some good solid decisions already - removing our 'analyst' and replacing him with a person good for the job. Questionable about bringin in another egotist Peter Cherrie but suppose he is probs better than our current no.1 it is a low bar tbh. Now if he was to wield the axe further and get rid of a few others both in the backroom and administration we may not be too far from having a fully functional setup

No leaks Pepsi, apart from whoever was involved in the hiring of Daly that was able to fill you in on the process involved, and whoever was involved in Daly's announcement photoshoot that was able to fill you in on exactly why the jersey in photos the had Sloggett on the back.
As the saying goes, the more things change, the more they stay the same.

Think the difference is that things are not coming out before the club announces them, nor is the business of the club being discussed within podcasts, a local GAA club or a pub located close to it. The club and its ownership/management needs to be given time to make changes and to implement ideas and new structures. The jobs for the boys times have to end and professionals need to put in place to make the club a working entity on and off the pitch. Only then will it be a place that will be interesting for serious investors with the money needed to make things happen on a major scale. Irish football has a chance to shoot forward, it just needs to professionalise itself from top to bottom. The times of people sitting at the top tables blocking progression to protect themselves and their positions has to end, time for everyone from the FAI down to club level to agree new ways need to be followed if progress is to be made and things are to change. That process has started and has a very long way to go.
