Sligo v Dundalk, 19 Apr

Post by seand »

Looks like everyone is as excited as me about this one!

Some green shoots in recent games- just one goal conceded in the last 2 games, some good possession stats, but...... where are the goals coming from? Can we sneak a 0-0? Or even a 1-0 to kick start the season?

I'd be starting young Eoin Kenny up front. Need something different, also Gullan needs to fully recover from his injury if he's to be any use to us.

A win is possible. Sligo after a couple of defeats are probably low on confidence. But both of those games were away. Ellis Chapman has looked a tidy signing for them.

Dundalk need to test Ed McGinty at least.

A good strike by Fabrice Hartman but Shelvey should be doing better. Sun looks to be in his eyes. Why is he not wearing a cap..

The ball moves quite a bit but Shelvey needs to be doing better, it goes through his arms. It's a terrible goal to concede.

Yeah looked like Shelvey should have done better. Another half with no shots on target. Get Keane on instead of Doyle .

BA must be waiting for the cameras to come out and tell him this is all a piss take. I have seen better players than Bradshaw play locally .... something is not right within the club we all love and BA will have his work cut out to correct it.

Inspired substitution from BigChief there! Good start to the half and a goal, hallelujah! Soft pen, but we'll take it.

Shelvey at fault for five Sligo goals so far this season.

Great support for the town by the sounds of it

Decent result, keepers done us again. Defensively we're very solid.

Gullens offside 'goal' gives an insight into the sort of opportunities he needs cos he stuck it away nicely

Great spirit shown by Dundalk , second goal was not offside. Will give the lads great confidence .
Two home games & a derby , will
target 9 points & we will be up near the top .
Cmon the Town . ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

Improvement ... some glimpses of what a bit of luck and confidence could bring out of some of these lads. Munro must be asking himself what he has done wrong, however a point is better than none. Need to get a manager in quickly.

Lacking both big time. Another slight improvement and we created more chances. Just need players to take a free risks and pull the trigger more than they are.
