Dundalk V Derry City

Post by N_Torris »

Are we hopeful out clear sheets record at home will hold out... or genuinely too afraid to even start the thread?

Tough fixture, especially given the injury crisis in the middle of the park, website preview says Mountney, Benson, Mahon, Oostenbrink and Keane all out, no mention of Scott High so assume he is available. Probably the first game where Daly is picking the team so who starts is anyone's guess, here's my preferred lineup, hopeful of a draw or at least a competent performance:

Ross Munro
Archie Davies -- Zak Johnson -- Andy Boyle -- Zak Bradshaw
Louie Annesley
Scott High Paul Doyle
Daryl Horgan Ryan O'Kane
Jamie Gullan

Think Scott High has gone back to Huddersfield because of the injury.

First game in Oriel for me in close to two years so lookin forward to seein how we line up. Would imagine we will sit in and look for a draw which is ok both sides with defense minded managers so may be a struggle

Mike Treacy in Oriel tonight ... hope he gets to see a good game. An interesting piece in the match programme also .... have often asked myself if he is or could be a potential investor for BA?

Good performance but we're not going to get anywhere if we don't score. Three very good chances and missed all three. Better team and probably deserved to win but same story as all season

Should have got more than a point, however luck was not with our strikers. Nice to see a new club record set ... 7 clean sheets in a row at home. It will click eventually .... Gullen has to keep his head up .... Daly has to have a list of realistic targets for the next window. Needs 2-3 players to improve what we have, maybe more if he decides to let lads move on.

Solid team performance but Jesus if Pat Hoban was wearing a lilywhite shirt tonight he'd have scored a hattrick, scoring is so difficult for us at the moment, it's the biggest obstacle in keeping us up, hope Daly can find the solution.

We were the better team tonight . We were defensively very solid but we need to be a lot more clinical with the chances we are creating.

Referee was atrocious.

Maher made 2 very good saves, a few other wild shots. Jon Daly was a forward himself so maybe he can try and get Gullan to be more composed. Derry look a very disjointed team.

Just home. Sorry lads we were fcuking robbed by that ref. Clear handball. He didn’t get a decision correct all night. Muller booked for a pull back and Connolly not for the exact same foul. Linesman on the stand side was clueless too

Really? Hoban was useless this evening and so was Duffy
