Shamrock Rovers v Dundalk | League Round 23 | Thursday 04 July 20.00

It's certainly going to be interesting to see Thursday night's formation. There could be a number of debuts given the injury situation.

Might even catch Rovers on the hop as they seem to be going through a bad patch.

We might, but if we have no striker that can score who will get a goal? Hopefully Gullan is back.

I didn't give us a hope to get anything on the first night of the season and we came away from Tallaght with a 1-1 draw.

You'd be happy to come away with a point again tonight and focus then on the 6 pointer against Drogheda next week.

With Leon Pohls in nets ,there's a chance of getting something from the game. A strange call by Bradley to go with him as number 1 for the season.

To have a chance of scoring we would have to get players into positions to hit the target and I am not convinced we have the players to do that. It could very much be a type of pre-season game depending on who JD puts out. The idea of potentially 3-5 new players could make us very disjointed.

Robbie Mahon, O Kane and Horgan alll have a decent shot on them from distance. Whoever is starting should be testing Pohls.

We were doing rightly up until we conceded. Faulkner done in behind good pass and finish. Thought it was a foul on Hakiki in the build up. Sean Keogh looks a find

Doing rightly .... Pohls gloves are still dry. Have we had a shot on target or has he had a save to make? You dont win games unless you score goals and regardless of what people tell you ... we have no goals in us. What Horgan is doing on the pitch I do not know, if he was a signing from the UK and didnt have the links he has, people would be calling for his head.

As in holding our own. We didn’t create a lot but neither did they. Ye Horgan been disappointing but not on his own unfortunately.

Hakiki showed a bit of inexperience trying to take on 3 players had they broke clear. He has some bright moments before that.

Drogheda level with 9 men shelbourne

I don't think even a dose of Viagra would help us score. No potency up top. The disappointing thing is that's a terribly poor rovers side.

That feels like points lost ... they are no great shakes. I have said it before and I will say it again ... if we are to get anything going forward we have to drop Horgan. The lads legs seem to be gone, he brings very little to our attack.
A this point relegation may be a blessing for us, allow us to regroup, get rid of some more old wood and rebuild from the bottom up, give us a little more time to tackle floodlight and pitch etc. Some serious investment needed if we do stay up, not only off the pitch but also on it.

It could have been worse, Drogs missed a sitter from 3 yards out in the 95th minute , you’d have to see it to believe the miss

I think you could say that's a typical Dundalk performance recently, alot of huff and puff with no end product, that's a terrible rovers team and I'd be surprised if they win their first round euro tie .
