Jim Goodwin looking to get Jamie McGrath to Aberdeen and Liam Scales. McGrath barely featured after moving to Wigan in January ,and lost his place in Ireland Squad as a result.

sad to see sk time ( almost definitely ) up

great believer that you generate luck based on how you treat those people / clubs who were key to your success

he's been extremely unlucky , , , no doubt back on the manager circuit soon up against his anointed former players

a real shame awful atmosphere in aviva tonight too

To be fair to SK he has given the best Ireland has to offer a chance, but as long as the complete lack of investment from the fai in grass roots and loi football continues all we can do is hope that the few that do make it to the big leagues are up to the standard. At the minute the fai offer little or nothing to Irish football, still corrupt to the core.

What was wrong with the atmosphere? I was there, people were behind the team. No boos. To be fair apart from our initial bright opening 10 mins, Ukraine were the better team especially 2nd half. I thought kelleher was very suspect for the goal. We have no cutting edge up front and Robinson should have been hooked off at half time. Jason Knight was by far out best player. And Duffy should have scored with the header that smacked the crossbar.

Stephen Kenny put more pressure on himself stating a few times they wanted to win the Group. The football last night was just hoofing it in for Shane Duffy. Duffy is a goal threat but that was no different to previous managers.

Maybe have good vision on Ireland should play, but very few of the team play in the Premier League.

Seems like an excellent crop of players coming through. Almost a shame Kenny took the seniors so soon. Had he hung around with U21s a couple more years he would be moving up to the seniors with a lot of them. Showing loyalty to lads like Hendrick and Robinson will be his downfall.

Yeah some good players like Smallbone and Evan Ferguson. There was good talent in the U21 Squad he managed also. Parrot, Idah, Obafemi, Kelleher.

Its about how those players progess on. Smallbone is 22 so would want to be playing regular football next season.

It's mad to think that now SK's job is in danger that we're in a position that we wouldn't try to rehire him straight away if he were to become available. I think that's a testament to how good a job Stevie's done so far.

I'd love Kenny to return to Oriel some day, maybe in a Director of Football capacity or something?

I think the national team is now paying for the John Delaney era of mismanagement. The National team will probably be playing in the lowest tier soon, and that's where they deserve to be.

Can't blame Kenny. The talent is just not there. I think Irish lads fool themselves over some players. Players like Parrott and Ogbene are found out at this level. Ogbene was painful yesterday.

I think Robinson was worse. Ogbene has been decent well in most of the games, last night was poor.. Robinson's control on the ball was terrible..

Kenny is contracted until Euro 24, but there is a release clause in the contract. He can't afford 2 more defeats in the next week against Scotland and Ukraine

I want Stephen Kenny to succeed at International level as much as the next person, but I fear that - by the end of this window - his position will have become untenable. Points away to Ukraine look unattainable, leaving only Scotland as a way of getting anything. I'm not sure he would step down though, unless by "Mutual Consent(€)". Whatever happens, I think there would be offers from the UK, certainly better than anything here, unless it was with a club likely to get to Europe. Rovers, Derry, and ourselves are locked down, leaving only Bohs and Pats as possibilities. There's no doubt that his forte is player management in club football, where can turn ordinary players in something special, but over the course of a full playing season.

I think it’s interesting that SK seems to get a free pass with regards to including LOI players in his squads.
O’Neill got frequently hammered about not picking LOI players but there isn’t a word about why Kenny isn’t picking them now.

I don't think there has been many standout players in the League this season. Andy Lyons having a good year he's with the U21s. James Talbot is in the current Squad
Jack Byrne probably should have been In,he was placed on standy but got Injured so wouldn't have been available.

Danny Mandroiu was in a Squad last season. I think Graham Burke was capped under O Neill
