RIP Alan. In my opinion one of the three best managers we ever had, Jim McLaughlin and Stephen Kenny the other two. Alan managed a very gifted Dundalk team who were loved and afmired by all Dundalk fans at the time. He was also a very good player. Another legend from my youth gone. Thoughts with the family and friends.

Nice of FAI to remember fans too who passed on, and our own Colm Crossan mentioned here, he is so badly missed on this forum.

A giant of a man in Dundalk, Ireland and European football history and yet a very humble gentleman. Condolences to his family. Rip Des. He should be honoured with a statue at Oriel and at least some part of the ground should be renamed in his honour.

Absolutely devestating news hearing of the death of Roy Mackin. The first smile you met entering the grounds of Oriel Park selling programmes. A word for everyone and a nicer person you will never meet. One of the good guys that followed the club through thick and thin and was deservingly presented with a signed jersey during the summer to mark his 80th birthday. Roy will be remembered by many in Oriel for many years to come. Sincere condolences to the Mackin and extended families and friends.
