What an abs gent Tommy was, always available for a chat about football, talk about full respect from grassroots right up to the top of LOI.

Was a huge help to Turlough in the revival from 1985 onwards, eventually winning the double in 88 and the league in 91, he also assisted Keely in the league winning team of 95. All of this was before he had the job on his own in 84 I think, worked his socks off with tiny resources.

I had the pleasure of playing for Squig in the Rangers schoolboys league teams in the 70's. Together with Gerry Gover they were great role models and had a great influence on all who played for them. Their coaching and mentoring went way beyond football. I have met Tommy a few times over the years since and he has never changed. He was a gentleman of the highest order and a true Rangers, Dundalk and Ireland legend. I am really sad today that another icon from our town has passed. RIP Tommy.

RIP Alan Fox. From what I’ve read of those two years it sounds like it was a mental time altogether. Thankfully things are calmer these days.
